Privacy Policy
Last updated: Pending legal review
1. Who We Are
Torevez is a carrier vetting and audit documentation service for licensed freight brokers, operated by its sole founder ("we," "us," or "Torevez"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with the Torevez service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account information: Your name, email address, company name, and any other information you provide when requesting early access or creating an account.
Usage data: Information about how you use the Service, including carrier lookups performed, verdicts generated, and audit records created. This information is tied to your account.
Carrier lookup data: Information you submit when running carrier vetting checks, including carrier identifiers (MC/DOT numbers). This data is used to run checks via your authorized third-party data subscriptions and to generate audit records.
Communications: If you contact us directly, we retain records of that correspondence.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Generate vetting verdicts and locked audit PDF records on your behalf
- Communicate with you about your account and the Service
- Respond to your questions and support requests
- Improve the Service over time
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Third-party data providers: To run carrier checks, the Service interacts with third-party data providers (including SaferWatch) using credentials you provide. Your use of those providers is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Torevez does not resell or sublicense access to those providers.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process.
Business transfers: If Torevez is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
5. Audit Records
Audit PDF records generated through the Service are your business records. Torevez retains copies of audit records in order to provide the Service (including record retrieval). We do not use your audit records for any purpose other than providing and improving the Service.
Audit records are locked at the time of generation and cannot be altered. This immutability is a core feature of the Service; it applies to Torevez as well — we cannot retroactively alter audit records after they are generated.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and audit records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to allow for record retrieval. Specific retention periods will be set forth in your subscription agreement. [PENDING LEGAL REVIEW]
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take data security seriously and will notify you promptly in the event of a breach affecting your information.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact Peyton directly at Torevez. Contact information is available at torevez.com.
9. Cookies and Tracking
The Torevez website may use essential cookies to maintain session state and provide core functionality. We do not currently use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. [PENDING LEGAL REVIEW — update as analytics are added]
10. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services (including SaferWatch and Netlify). These services have their own privacy policies, and Torevez is not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use in connection with Torevez.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify existing subscribers of any material changes before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Policy was last revised.
12. Contact
Questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy can be directed to Peyton at Torevez. Contact information is available at torevez.com.
